If you’re looking to advertise and promote your business online, it can be daunting. There are a lot of different options out there for you to choose from, and it can be hard to know where to start.

In this blog post, I’m going to share my best tips on how you can get started!

Your website – your home base

Your website is your home base. It’s the place where you can set up shop and get to work, but it’s also so much more than that. Your site is your business card, storefront, salesperson, customer service rep, marketer, recruiter…and so much more!

So how do you make sure that people find what they’re looking for when they visit your website? The answer: with Google Ads (formerly known as AdWords).

  • You can use social media to advertise and promote your business online. If you already have a following on any particular platform, this will help get the word out about any new products or events that you want to make sure people know about.
  • You can use other websites to advertise and promote your business online. There are many sites where people go for news or entertainment purposes, so if there’s something that piques their interest in what you do, it could be a good opportunity for advertisement!

Get a Website

You should have a website, it’s a must-have. It’s the home base for your business and can be built by yourself or a web designer. If you don’t have a website, your business will not be taken seriously by users today and people won’t find you online.

RSS feeds and syndication

RSS feeds are a great way to get your content out there. They’re also a great way to get your content in front of people who might not otherwise see it, if you know how to use them properly.

What is an RSS Feed?

RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication”, and it’s basically just a list of things that you want someone else to know about — sort of like an email newsletter, except that:

  • It’s automated (so no manual labor is required)
  • It’s syndicated via the web instead of sent as an email

Maps and directions

Maps and directions are an extremely important part of local SEO. If someone is searching for a product or service in the neighborhood, it’s crucial that your listing show up first. This is because Google places a high value on local search results, meaning that if you don’t appear at the top of searches in your area, you won’t get much traffic.

To get your business listed on Google Maps, go to https://www.google.com/business/. You’ll need to make sure that you have a verified address—this will ensure that Google knows where exactly you’re located.

Next up is adding information about your business: name and address; category (industry); hours of operation; phone number; website URL; photos (Google+ Local allows for up to nine images per page); reviews from customers (if any), etc. Once this information has been added, submit it!

It may take some time before anything happens but once everything checks out okay then congratulations! Your business should be listed on Google Maps now!

SEO

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of optimizing your website to rank higher in search engines. This can be done through various means, including creating high-quality content, frequent updates, and link building.

Companies can use SEO to promote their business online by increasing organic traffic to their website or landing page. The benefits of SEO include increased brand awareness, improved user experience and increased sales conversions.

However, it’s important not to overdo it when you’re trying to optimize your site: too many links from sites with low authority could actually harm your rankings instead of helping them!

Facebook

Facebook is one of the best places you can advertise and promote your business online.

There are several ways to use Facebook to market your business. You can create a Facebook page for your business and then get customers to “like” it. When people “like” your page, it shows up in their news feeds on their personal pages and in the news feed of everyone who has liked it. This is free advertising for you! Another way to use Facebook is with ads. These are paid for by advertisers so that they appear in more people’s news feeds than regular posts would do on their own.

You can also use Facebook events, which are like invitations that go out when someone creates an event on their page or invites others through Messenger or email message (if they give permission). If someone clicks on this invitation or RSVPs “yes,” then an event will show up on their calendar as if they had RSVPed themselves—but now other people know about it too! If someone clicks “interested” instead of “yes,” however, then only those who have subscribed via email notification will see this event; those who have clicked “no thanks/not interested/unsubscribed from notifications from this page won’t see anything at all—which means no spamming anyone’s inboxes either way!

Facebook – free advertising for local businesses

Facebook is a great place for local businesses to advertise because it’s free and easy to use.

Use Facebook Ads: If you have a limited budget but still want to advertise on social media sites like Facebook then consider checking out ads that they offer called “boost posts”.

This is an option where they will promote certain posts made by pages within their network so that more people see them in order to increase awareness about what those pages are doing currently along with having more engagement coming from those who do choose not only to visit but also interact with them as well!

YouTube

One of the best ways to promote your business online is through YouTube. This is because it allows you to reach a large number of people who are watching videos online. You can also use this medium for marketing your business and promoting its products or services.

Benefits Of Using YouTube For Marketing Your Business:

  • It provides a good opportunity for you to make a lot of money from advertising revenue. This means that if you have a great video that gets many views, then there will be many companies who will want to advertise their products on it so that they can reach more people and make more money off of their ads (a win-win situation).
  • You get an opportunity to build trust with potential customers by giving them helpful information about how they should use your products or services in order to get the best results possible (this helps you close sales).

Google Places – free advertising for small businesses

Google Places is a free advertising service for small businesses. You can create a Google Places page for your business and add photos, video, and other information about your business. This will help people find you when they’re searching on Google Maps or Google+ Local (the new name of the old local directory).

Now that you have your own website, it’s time to spread the word and get visitors. There are several ways you can do this. One of the best ways is by linking to other sites that are relevant to your business in some way. For example, if you own a coffee shop, consider linking to websites like Coffee-Lovers Anonymous or Coffee Talk at work. By doing so, people who visit either site will be introduced to your business as well; they may even come into your store!

It’s also important not to forget about social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram when promoting your site. Once again: if someone likes what they see on these platforms (like pictures of delicious food), they’ll be more likely to head over here next time they’re craving something new!
